Burma and Bangladesh.

Burma is our next-door neighbour but we, Bangladeshi, don't pay much attention to this country. We have lack of interest about this country. Bangladeshi should concern about the recent situation of Burma. What was happened in last month in Burma was really shocking. The military junta clearly violate the human rights. It is totally unacceptable and condemnable. Now we should raise our voice against the military government. We should support the protesters who are struggling for democracy. A stable and democratic Burma is necessary for Bangladesh's own interest. Because there is a cross-border flow of refugees, small arms and illicit drugs from Burma to Bangladesh. That is happening because military government repressed ethnic minorities, as a result they are entering into Bangladesh on a large scale. Small arms are spreading through the Burma-Bangladesh border. There is no democratic government in Burma and military government is patronizing this crime. This cross border crime is threatening for the internal stability of Bangladesh. More over huge refugees from Burma are creating problem in Bangladesh society. So Bangladesh should support the pro-democratic protest of Burmese people. Stable, democratic, and developed Burma is necessary for maintain peace and stability in this region.
